Dear President Obama,
As the walls of Haiti lay in ruins, so too are the hopes of the American people. When you ran for office, you made us believe once again in the American Dream. We latched on to your mantra, "Yes We Can!"
Now, one year later we wonder if even you still believe. This fight is not about jobs, the deficit, wars and foreclosures. It is a war for the spirit of the American people. We want to know that you are still fighting for us.
We need to see that leader again that stood up in the face of hate, that straddled Europe and spoke out in front of millions declaring your vision for the future. We need a leader who will assure us that the interests of the voters will be paramount. We call upon you to restore our faith. We need to know that you still have our backs, that you are still in charge: not the banks, not the moderate Democrats, not the right wing, not the health care industry, not the hate mongers and armed thugs, but you, our President.
